The Struffelt route, a varied hike between Rott and Roetgen, offers a varied circular hike around the Dreilägerbach dam and through the Struffelt nature reserve. This route is named after the unwooded Struffeltkopf hill and leads through a species-rich raised bog landscape. The hike not only offers outstanding views, but also spectacular flora and fauna. A special feature of the route is the pipe-cleaner grass, which is typical of the Struffelt and whose fluffy spikes were once used to clean pipes. The Struffelt route is a partner trail of the Eifelsteig and runs for around 10 kilometers, mainly on natural paths. It includes easy and moderately difficult ascents and descents and is suitable for the whole family. The route is classified as "easy" and can be hiked all year round.
