Anyone arriving in Dortmund by bus or train will immediately come across the city's landmark visible from afar: the Dortmunder U. The administration building of the former largest West German brewery, the Dortmunder Union-Brauerei, was developed into a unique cultural center with international appeal as part of the European Capital of Culture - Ruhr.2010. You can see the "Flying Pictures" of the breathtaking installation by film artist Adolf Winkelmann from afar. Film sequences with characteristic landscapes and views of the Ruhr region are shown around the clock as a panorama around the top of the building. Typical insights into the region as a cultural area are shown.
