DASA provides exciting insights into selected professions. These include jobs such as pilot, editor or construction site worker. Exhibits and interactive stations help visitors to better understand the changes in occupational safety and technology.
Occupational safety means much more than just following safety instructions, wearing the right clothing and listening to your boss. No other exhibition in the world demonstrates this as clearly as the DASA in Dortmund. Around 200,000 visitors every year confirm the relevance of this topic, which concerns each and every one of us.
No matter what trade we are in - something can always happen: The exhibition provides a comprehensive impression of what people in different industries have done to improve working conditions and ensure greater safety in the workplace. The development of technology and the cultural-historical background play an important role in all eleven themed areas of the museum.
Power station control stand can be visited
On around 13,000 square meters of exhibition space, which is constantly being updated, visitors can visit the control room of a power station or the workplace of an editor. Here they can lend a hand in a bookbindery and learn more about occupational medicine in a large company.
The sections on transportation, the construction industry and the modern working world are particularly impressive. Various construction and transport vehicles such as an excavator or a historic streetcar are on display. Robots and 3D printers help to close gaps in knowledge about modern work technology at the touch of a button.
DASA Dortmund recently updated the "Healing and Care" section. A new exhibition on service professions will open in 2024. The museum, which celebrated its first partial opening in 1993 and is part of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, is thus continuing to expand its focus on active learning.
