The Freudenberg half-timbered trail offers a historical journey through time, starting in the idyllic little half-timbered town. The route leads through beautiful natural passages to an old smelting site and offers impressive views. A special highlight is the 400-metre-long tunnel passage. The picturesque little town of Freudenberg, nestled in the vast forests of the Siegerland region, is just waiting to be discovered. The narrow streets of the old town with its time-honored cobblestones and the pretty black and white half-timbered houses take you back to the Middle Ages. The half-timbered trail complements this cultural and historical gem with an excursion to rippling waters and fantastic views. The tunnel passage near Hohenhain is a particular highlight of the route. The Freudenberg half-timbered trail is a regional hiking trail that is culturally interesting and offers refreshment stops. It is a circular route that is accessible all year round, from January to December.
