Genes influence the appearance and behavior of all living beings. But what exactly is a gene and what is behind terms such as epigenetics or gene therapy? The LWL Museum of Natural History in Münster explores this question in its exhibition "Genes - Diversity of Life".

Visitors learn about the points of contact everyone has with genes in everyday life. They can find out more about topics such as genetic engineering, hereditary diseases and epigenetic influences. By combining media technology and architecture, amateur researchers can even travel into the microcosm of the cell, where genetic material is stored. Large sculptures in the form of chromosomes guide visitors through the exhibition, each opening a new exhibition area.
