König-Brauerei

Duisburg

In 1858, Theodor König founded the brewery named after him in Duisburg. His vision was to provide hard-working people with a tasty beer after work. The large coal deposits promoted industrialization and attracted many people to the region in search of work at the time.

"Quality is paramount" - this was his guiding principle, which remains unchanged more than 160 years after the brewery was founded. The company's master brewers still only select the best raw materials. With a great deal of passion and experience, this results in beers that meet the highest quality standards. They are brewed with high-quality hops, special König yeast and selected barley malt as well as the purest brewing water from a nature reserve in the region. The range includes the iconic König Pilsener, the refreshing König Pilsener Alkoholfrei and the full-bodied, unfiltered Th. König Kellerbier.

The König brewery offers visitors a traditional and authentic brewery tour. During the tour, guests experience the craft of brewing at first hand. They learn everything there is to know about the process from the raw materials to the finished beer. A tasting of the products in the newly designed Theodor König cellar is included.
