The LVR-LandesMuseum Bonn is dedicating the exhibition "Brave new world of work. 1890-1940" is dedicated to the profound changes in the world of work between the late 19th century and the eve of the Second World War. In six thematic chapters, the exhibition shows how technological innovations and social upheavals inspired artists such as Otto Dix, Käthe Kollwitz and Franz Wilhelm Seiwert to artistically process the challenges and visions of this period. In addition to iconic works such as Leo Breuer's Kohlenmann from 1931, the exhibition also offers exciting insights into lesser-known positions by artists such as Sella Hasse and Magnus Zeller.

With surprising parallels to the present - from the debate about the four-day week to the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence - the LVR-LandesMuseum Bonn's exhibition builds a bridge between historical and current questions about the future of work. Participatory elements and a varied accompanying program encourage visitors to reflect on the social impact of changing work.
