The special exhibition "Democratic Cultures in the Sauerland 1925-1975-2025" at the Sauerland Museum in Arnsberg offers a fascinating insight into the social development of the region. The occasion is the 100th anniversary of the museum and the 50th anniversary of the Hochsauerland district. The exhibition sheds light on the changes in everyday life over the last 100 years - from work and housing to mobility, politics and disaster control. There is a particular focus on the 1920s and 1970s, which are regarded as key periods of democratic development.
In addition to important documents, the museum also exhibits authentic objects from the everyday life of past decades, which come directly from the population. It had invited guests to contribute to the presentation. The exhibition not only documents, but also provides an outlook on the future of South Westphalia.
