LVR Industrial Museum Cromford Textile Factory

Ratingen

The first factory on the European continent - it is located in Ratingen.

Where cotton was spun and woven on a grand scale until the 1970s, today the exhibition shows how the textile industry began. At the heart of the factory are the functional spinning machines, which show how cotton was spun 200 years ago.

The magnificent manor house was once the economic control center and bourgeois residence of the entrepreneurial family. The exhibition there tells of the life and work of the Brügelmanns - both their business activities and their very private affairs.

In the manor house, the museum café invites you to linger and enjoy the historical atmosphere with coffee and cake specialties. The museum store in the factory offers a wide range of products related to the themes of the LVR Industrial Museum Textile Factory Cromford.
