It all began with a portrait cut by an artist in Paris, when Hermann Gebing acquired his first scissor cut rather involuntarily in 1971 as a result of the artist's importunity. Since then, his enthusiasm and passion for collecting have grown in over 40 years, as has the number of his exhibits. Step by step, one of the most extensive collections in the field of scissor cutting has been created, which Hermann Gebing has contributed to the Vreden Community Foundation as the "HEGE Fund".
The permanent exhibition shows a cross-section of the diverse history of paper cutting. Occasional special exhibitions round off the program.
